toluene, but it is a major ingredient in a lot of octane boosters. You'll find most folks on this site are against fuel additives, and I believe Nissan's official stance is to avoid them. Practically all octane boosters are various combinations of toluene, xylene, methanol, ethanol, kerosene, and even mineral spirits. I have used "Dale Jarret Outlaw Octane Booster" in many of my cars, including my Z's, and believe I could tell an improvement, although I don't have any objective documentation. For about the same price I would pay for those small bottles of octane booster, I've been experimenting with gallon containers of toluene. I can't recommend it other than to say do your own diligent research, and form your own opinion.
